Low Speed Hydraulic Drives Rotary Lobe Pump And Multicrusher For Tar Lake
Accuvon Multicrusher
Accuvon Multicrusher is an effective, universal chopping unit for use in liquids containing solids. It reliably chops coarse material such as fibers, wood, glass, plastics, membranes, textiles and many others.
The design is based on the proven Accuvon rotary lobe pump: carrier shafts, mounting, shaft seals and casing are identical.

Rotary Lobe Pump and Multicrusher in a Tar Lake
From a Tar Lake high viscose sludge needs to be disposed. Previously installed pump systems failed due to the high viscosity - temperature depending up to 50.000 m/Pas -- and the solids being included partially being relatively large. Both facts let the previous pumps clogging and block. The solution for that application was the Accuvon double pack, consisting of a Multicrusher HAP 80 and a Rotary Lobe pump AP 80, The machines are fitted to a common frame, but individually driven by hydraulic motors. The complete submersible unit is ex-proof and according to the European ATEX-Standard
Application:
Type: AP 80 + HAP 80
Medium: Tar Sludge
Capacity: 5-25 m3/h
Pressure: 2 -8 bar
Technical Data:
Casing: GG 25 in MIP-Design
Rotor: in FPM
Seal: in FPM
Low speed hydraulic drives with high operating torque.
Advantages
Maintenance friendly with the outstanding MIP- Design
Ex-proof for zone 1 and 2, and according to ATEX
Speed controlled capacity variation, for perfect adoption to different viscosities and pressures Multicrusher and pump identical in construction; easy spare parts storing High temperature resistance, blockage-free, easy entrance of solids
Operating principle
Two shafts are moved against one another by an external gear unit. Each of the two shafts is fitted with cutting blades which comb through one another. The cutting blades catch and chop the coarse material in the medium while the liquid flows through the clefts between blade rows and through the gaps between the blades. The cutting blades comb through each other with minimal play for optimal tearing and cutting action.
Dissimilar rotational speeds of the blades produce the best cutting results and self-cleaning ability. With various sizes, variable blade configurations and optimum rated speeds, the machine can be adapted to handle almost any application. Different materials used in the Accuvon Multicrusher, including those designed to handle corrosive liquids, also enable the unit to be used with sea water.
